Does America Have Compasion and Morals?

Written by Linda

wow, now here's a topic of discussion, that I know millions of people across America are having. Actually, I was having this very discussion yesterday. When I was talking to my significant other. Here it goes, and today's deep thought moment is: drum rolls please. OK, today's deep thought moment: "morality in America."

Linda why would you, or anybody for that matter, try to tackle that topic. As if your anybody to be covering "morality!" Ya well, if I have to cover the morality issue, you know things are really getting bad! I know, I'm sure as hell not the most moral person out there. I don't want to look like a hypocrite. But if I have to actually voice "my" opinion, on this tired subject, you know things are bad in America.

OK here's the definition of morality, (a) "1.descriptively to refer to a code of conduct put forward by a society or, a.some other group, such as a religion, or
b.accepted by an individual for her own behavior or
2.normatively to refer to a code of conduct that, given specified conditions, would be put forward by all rational persons."

America has become a very un-moral place. What I'm trying to say people is that there are some golden rules; which you should never break. I mean, unless you don't like having friends. So my significant other and I, where discussing while we were driving back from Ralph's. After he bought me some sushi, (P.S, you should never eat sushi, when you are suffering from any kind of flu! I was in the bathroom for hours yesterday, after the sushi disaster.) Alright, back to what we where discussing, so he mentioned to me. "Isn't it sad, to see people burning each other, in society all the time? It's like everybody wants to find out, how much everybody else can take advantage of co-workers and friends. The greed here in America is out of control! So everybody else sees other's doing this, and then they try to do& that very thing themselves." Boy, he's not kidding! I said: "it's like people nowadays, whether they're family members or friends. Are out to burn each other! It's like these greedy individuals. Whom are allways trying to burn each other, out of inheritance money. They are basically the greedy individuals in society. Individuals whom are always trying to burn anyone out of anything, that can be taken or stollen!

He said: "It's almost as if, a lot of people in society, want everything for themselves." This is about morality, but it's also about basic economics. My significant other went on, telling me this story. I guess he had watched a movie called a Beautiful Mind. In a particular scene, there were 5 women hanging out at a bar. Now only one woman was smoking hot! There were 5 guys standing around in a posse at the same bar. They all wanted to hit on the hottie with the friends. Now the hottie was hanging around 4 female friends, who weren't as hot as she was. The guys in the posse, just left the other women hanging, to dry in the wind by themselves. What wound up happening is, every single guy, except for one hot guy in their posse, was the only guy who was going to get laid by the hottie in the group. Which meant, the 4 other guys, where shot down by the hot chick, and where totally rejected. Now at that bar, there was a girl for every guy, in that hot chicks posse. This breaks down to simple economics: "what's good for the whole group? Not just whats good for any one particular individual." So if everyone of those guys, wouldn't of had his sights set so high. With everyone of them only hitting on the hot chick. All those guys, would have gotten laid. Now that's basic morality and economics 101: Whats good for everybody? I mean we should all think about our friends and loved ones first. Which means: thinking about the group, and not just about yourself!

I heard just this very subject on T.V two weeks ago. I believe it was on the Ed Show, or a show right before his show. The News caster said: "why do so many people in America, seem to enjoy, watching other people lose?" Don't you know people who seem to really get off, when others lose? Don't they act jealous when they see other's getting raises or starting businesses, or becoming millionaires?

I personally really love, seeing all my friends and relatives doing good. But I have some very shady relatives, my aunt, has full financial control of my Grandfathers estate, and my cousin is a total hater. My mother seems to think, that my Aunt is blowing threw what's left of our inheritance money. Is it true? Only time will tell, but my father thinks, my aunt can do no wrong. But this isn't just my story, it's a continuing theme in America, which I have personally seen, over and over again: It's called GREED!

I don't know, I was always taught, when I was growing up. Not to be selfish! It was part of my morality training. I also thought that, not wanting to see friends and family dying, dead broke, in a puddle of mud or vomit somewhere, could also be a part of morality training. Where's the honor, dignity, and righteousness in being jealous, or taking advantage of employee's, friend's and loved ones? What about the good for the whole? What I'm trying to say is, that if more and more people in the U.S aren't doing well. Then won't all of us in the U.S, eventually be living in poverty? Where's the American Dream, where's the apple pie, where's God and faith?

I've seen this even in strip clubs, where stupid women whom where prostitutes, in some third world country, before making the track out to the U.S., thought that they are smarter then they are. These greedy women actually started giving, hand jobs, blow jobs and basically did anything some dirty wet-back wanted done. Doing these acts, in some rundown, Californian strip-club somewhere. Basically these classless-whores, have ruined other women's life's in strip clubs. Why Linda? Because, those girls who didn't do that just wanted to survive financially, against greedy-gutter-trash. These women were then forced, to let those same wet-backs, do that disgusting stuff to them! Now that's an extreme case, of looking out for number one, and not caring about co-workers or friends.

That story to me is like morality 101. What I'm trying to say is, if your going to be dirty to the core of your being: do you really have to take all your friends down with you, in your decent into hell? It amazes me! So many Americans are like this! They have money, they'll see homeless people: and they'll actually feel annoyed, by the homeless asking them for money. These a-holes are totally amazing!

American society is becoming so bad, lets say you have a good looking boyfriend or girlfriend. Now you're walking along the beach. So what goes and happens to you while walking along the beach? A group of idiot guys, whom are In their pretend hummer, drive by, being jerks! The only reason for them acting like idiots, is because they thought: your man or woman is to hot for you. What? It's like a person in the U.S thses days, isn't allowed to be happy! I'm always happy for any couple, who is even willing to be in a relationship. I'm happy for strangers that are fellow Americans, whom can stay in any committed relationship. Why? Because, I'm not like most of the egotistical, self centered, immoral, idiots out there: who have the nerve call themselves Americans. I'm not a hater!

It's sad, but I don't see this happening with older Americans. This immoral, jealous, hater way of being, that I've seen, is only happening with younger people, and their groups. I went to target one day, and a group of three teenage girls; decided to follow me around target. Trying to laugh at me and bully me, for absolutely no reason. Which was totally ridiculous because I'm 30 something. What I'm saying is; does the bully heard mentality, have to follow people, from High school into their everyday lives, after graduation? Is America becoming a Nation of hateful, jealous, antagonistic people? Our we becoming, a society that doesn't like seeing people happy or doing good, which only focuses on the negative?

It's just disgusting to me, that parents around the Nation, have forgotten to teach their kids, the most important thing you can teach someone. These parents and society have forgotten to teach their children, something called: "compassion!" Compassion is the most important thing in life, that any of us could ever learn. Which also leads to something called morality. Why? Because if you treat others well, you will also love and respect yourself. My family and I, sent my son, to a school to teach him compassion and kindness. Why? Because without it, you can do some very cruel things to strangers, loved ones and Friends. That's the end of this deep thought moment.
